The Latin Fund campaign takes place in the fall and we urge members of the community to make a gift or pledge by December 31. Making a commitment before the end of the year means we can put your dollars to work sooner supporting current needs. It also helps us plan for the school year since we know what funds will be coming in.
Pledges can be made at any time and give donors the flexibility to pay in installments or in one lump sum by June 30. Families receive participation credit once a gift or pledge is made. Donors will be recognized periodically throughout the year through donor listings as well as in our Annual Report that is published each fall. A donor can always choose to have their giving remain anonymous.
What does the Latin Fund support?
The Latin Fund supports the people and programs that make the Latin experience so powerful. The impact of your collective contributions funds nearly 10% of school life, playing an essential role in executing our vision of a liberal arts education that makes learning inquiry-based, personal and inclusive. Gifts immediately support our community.
Support for experiential and project based learning.
Curriculum support that makes learning more personal and inquiry based for all Latin learners.
Rigorous and diverse academic offerings.
FACULTY AND STAFF SUPPORT
Recruit and retain top notch faculty and staff.
Invest in training and development opportunities that strengthen Latin’s programming.
Access and inclusion are central to Latin’s identity.
Robust tuition assistance is critical to ensuring economic diversity and attracting talented students regardless of their economic circumstance.
Latin will award more than $4 million in financial aid during the 2022-2023 school year.
How much should I give?
We receive gifts from $20 to more than $25,000 each year. Everyone chooses an amount that is meaningful for them, and each gift is powerful. There are a lot of people paying attention to participation in the Latin Fund: lead volunteers and donors, and prospective families, teachers and administrators all look to annual giving as a way of measuring how invested the Latin community is in our school. Because of supporters, like you, Latin is consistently at the top of our peer schools nationally in parent giving, and our alumni giving has grown by leaps and bounds in the last 10 years.
Why is it important that parents make their commitment before December 31?
Since all Latin Fund donations are used during the academic school year they are received, your commitment today helps the school better anticipate the total amount that will be raised and utilize funds immediately to benefit all students, faculty, staff and community members.
How is the Latin Fund different from the annual event, Scholarship Dinner or Romans Raise & Revel?
The Latin Fund and the event both provide critical support, but they play slightly different roles. The Latin Fund provides community support for Latin’s program and strategic direction. The event supports need-based financial aid for students, demonstrating our commitment to increased access to a Latin education through financial aid.
"You enrolled your child in an independent school because you were attracted to the excellent faculty and small class size. You found excellence and your gifts allow you to help sustain it.”
